Why does my smart lock say “unlocked", but it still won’t open?

Answer:

Step 1: Please check that the square hole of the latch is horizontal and not inclined.

 

Step 2: Please check if the latch is damaged. If the latch is damaged, please contact us to send you a new one to replace it.

 

Step 3: Please reinstall the smart lock and make sure the lock is not skewed.

Why can't I pair the lock with the APP via Bluetooth?

Answer:

STEP 1: Please make sure your lock is in the initialization state before pairing. If the initialization is not completed, please follow the steps below to initialize the lock.

How can I unlock the door if the batteries run out?

Answer:

1.You can use the mechanical key to unlock.

2.You can use a power bank to temporarily power your door lock and then unlock it.

Why can't the external handle engage the latch to open the door after installation?

Answer:

When the lock has just been installed, the lock is in a locked state and the external handle cannot engage the latch, the lock needs to be programmed so that the external handle can engage the latch to open door when it is successfully unlocked.

 

Note: The external handle will always turn whether locked or unlocked, but only engage the latch under unlocked state.

Why is the lock handle point in opposite direction?

Why can't smart locks connect to WiFi directly and need a WiFi Gateway?

Answer:

Since the Wi-Fi protocol consumes more power compared to the Bluetooth protocol and requires a persistent connection, directly connecting a smart lock to a Wi-Fi network would significantly impact battery life. Therefore, we adopted a more efficient solution by adding an additional Wi-Fi gateway as a relay. The smart lock communicates with the gateway via Bluetooth, while the gateway connects to the network using Wi-Fi. This approach not only enables the smart lock to connect to the Wi-Fi network but also significantly reduces power consumption, thereby achieving longer standby time.

How do I decide if I need to buy a WiFi Gateway?

In fact, connecting the smart lock to your phone via Bluetooth is sufficient for most people's daily needs. Below, we've listed the functions that require a gateway, so you can decide whether to purchase one based on your specific requirements.

How to set up a wifi Gateway with your NICE DIGI Account?

Answer:

Please follow the video below to add WiFi Gateway on the NICE DIGI APP and pair it with your lock. After paired, you can connect your lock to Alexa and Google Assistant.

How to check if the door is locked from the outside?

Excellent question, to confirm the lock status, simply turn the lock handle in a downward direction and see if the door opens.

Note: the handle will always turn (whether locked or unlocked).

Why does the lock always indicate a low battery, even when I get a new battery?

Scenario 1: Just installed 4 new batteries, but the battery level is not 100%.

Answer: The power display may have errors due to unstable voltage, but it will not affect normal use and will read normally after a period of use.

 

Scenario 2: After replacing new batteries, it quickly runs out of power within a few days and prompts low battery.

Answer: The PCB may be faulty. Please contact us via support@yamiry.com and we will replace it with a new lock free of charge during the warranty period.

How can I remove this lock from the app?

Answer:

Method 1: If you are administator of the lock, you can remove this lock on the APP as below:

Notice: Please make sure you are no more than 3 meters away from the door lock during operation, otherwise the door lock will not be initialized.

Method 2: You can also initialize the lock as follows. After initialization, the original permissions of the lock on the APP will automatically become invalid.

 

Why can't the set passcode be displayed on the APP?

Answer:

Due to the privacy protection agreement, our APP only displays the passcode name and cannot display the specific passcode you set. It is recommended that you record the passcode somewhere else after setting it.

Why does the lock only works while turning the handle upward?

Answer:

Please make sure you have installed the smart lock correctly and the door lock is not tilted after installation. Please remove and reinstall according to the manual. If the issue still cannot be solved, please contact us via support@yamiry.com

How can I unlock the door if the smart lock doesn't work?

Answer:

You can use the key that comes with the product to open the door.

How do I determine the proper latch tongue direction when installing my Smart Lock?

Answer:

When installing the latch mechanism, the latch tongue has a smooth side and a bumpy side.

If the door opens inward (into a room)  

  • the bumpy side should face the inside of the room
  • The smooth side faces outside 

If the door opens outward (toward the outside)  

  • The bumpy side of the latch should face the outside
  • The smooth side faces inside

Does the Smart Lock work with Z Wave?

Answer:

Yamiry smart locks can't work with Z Wave.

Can I charge the lock?

Answer:

The Type-C port is only used for emergency power supply when the batteries are out of power, so that you can open the door to replace the batteries. However, it cannot charge the batteries. If it is out of power, please replace the batteries in time.

Can this lock be installed to work on on either right-handed or left-handed doors?

Answer:

Yes, you can adjust the handle direction as below to fit right-handed or left-handed doors.

Is this lock compatible with TTlock?

Answer:

No, this lock is not compatible with TTlock APP.

Can I pair more than 10 Smart locks on my App and does each lock need its own gateway?

Answer:

Theoretically, one WiFi Gateway can connect to more than 10 smart locks. However, since the Gateway and the locks communicate via Bluetooth, you need to ensure that each lock is no more than 10 meters away from the Gateway. Otherwise, the smart locks that exceed the distance will not be able to connect to the Gateway.
